What's up with this crazy freakin' weather!!!
For the past three days I have been walking around in a pair of shorts and tank top! Hello......it's November!!! I feel sticky and I don't like feeling sticky. I have the ceiling fans running and the only window in this old house that will open, is open! I finally broke down yesterday and turned the a/c back on so I could get some housework done. But alas, we had a rain shower last night and again this morning so hopefully that will cool things off a bit.
I've been doing some blog hopping lately and ran across a link to a photo editing software that you can download to your computer. It's called Pixlr-o-matic and it adds a vintage, retro look to your photos.
Here's a before photo of the windmill just outside my office window.
And here's an after.
Here's a before photo of my son Kyle.
And and after using an effects layer and grunge frame.
I love it!

Goodbye Long Hot Summer!
Am I sad to see you go.....hell no! This has been one of the hottest summers on record. We've had very little rain fall this summer, not to mention weeks of record breaking temps. It's been one of those stay inside under the air conditioner type of summers. But alas fall is approaching, and you know what that means.......brisk mornings and evenings spent on the front porch, crock pots of chili, jalapeno cornbread, flannel pj's and pumpkin spice candles......oh how I love this time of year!
Here are a few layouts that I created over the summer months.
For the Record - Echo Park.
Basic Grey and Pink Paislee.
Origins - Basic Grey.
Urban Prairie - Basic Grey.
and Life of the Party - Basic Grey.
That's it for now. I have a pork loin in the crock pot that is smelling pretty damn good right now and I want to get the boys fed, kitchen cleaned so I can settle down on the couch and watch me some NCIS!

I'm Back!!!
What can I say? Sometimes life and all it's little pressure's get in the way and you just need to take a step back and reevaluate things. Well that pretty much happened to me. I have stepped down from design teams, forums, blogging and pretty much crafting all together over the last 6 months. It didn't help that shortly after that I was introduced to Facebook and Farmville. Yes, I Jan Mosier am a Farmville addict. And I'm not alone in this addiction......my entire family is playing it too! My husband and son (who I hold responsible because they needed a new neighbor) my mom, aunt, sister and niece all play and are just as addicted as I am. Although my mother refuses to admit it. She says to me, "you and Sandra (my sister) stay on that computer all the time!" And how would she know if she wasn't on too.....huh, huh? Try to figure that one out. lol. The good news is I have started crafting again and last months use your stash BPS (Blue Plate Special) challenges over at Cookin' Up Creations have really helped.
Here's a few projects that I completed last month.
I love how this one turned out. And I even dusted off the baby Cricut to cut the letters.
I did these for a Christmas tag swap. I thought they were a little big but one of the ladies said she hung hers on the tree so that wasn't so bad.
A simple layout of my beautiful stepdaughter Jackie and her handsome husband, Adam.
This next layout is so not my style but I really liked the results. Sometimes you just have to let the photo choose which papers you use and that's exactly what I did.
And I will never look at an empty toilet paper roll the same way again. lol. It's now a gift card holder. Just add a gift card to a tag and slip it in the opening at the end. BTW, if you're grossed out about the TP roll you can always use a paper towel roll.
If you're still here, thank you for taking the time to look. Happy Valentine's Day and be sure to hug the ones you love!
