Blue Plate Special and Hark! Hark!

Yay, it's nursery rhyme theme over at Cookin' Up Creations this month, and who doesn't have a favorite nursery rhyme.  Mine was, and still is Pease Porridge Hot.  I don't know why, but I still sing it to this day.....but with a more bohemian accent. Hey, don't knock until you hear it.  lol.  Anyhoo, this month I chose Hark, Hark, The Dogs Do Bark!, because as you probably know by now, I have FOUR of them so I though it was only fitting!

Hark, hark, the dogs do bark!
The beggars are coming to town!
Some in rags and some in tags,
and one in a velvet gown.

So my challenge was to create a layout based on the sketch below and to use tags.

And here's my layout.

For this layout I used a kit that I purchased from Scrapdango that contained the Awesome collection by Simple Stories.  I pulled out some metal stars (Scrapworks), an old plaque eyelet (Making Memories) and  a button from my stash.  I also splattered some water color paint on the pattern paper as well as the background.

Thanks for stopping by.  Now leave me a comment and tell me what is your favorite nursery rhyme.

Cookin' Up Creations Christmas in July Blog Hop

Welcome to the Christmas in July blog hop, hosted by the Cookin' Up Creations Master Chef Challenge Team!  Yeah I know, it's way too hot to be thinking about Christmas, right?  Wrong!  With the temperatures rising above the 100 degree mark the past couple of weeks I've been spending a lot more time sitting inside under the air conditioner.  And if you're anything like me, you are probably doing the same.  So why not join us for our Christmas in July blog hop for some great ideas and inspiration to help you get a jump start on those holiday cards and projects. To begin, stop by the Cookin' Up Creations blog and follow the links until you reach the end of the hop.

Today, I will be sharing a couple of Christmas cards I made using some old patter paper with (in this case) some older pattern paper, but you can use new paper.

I just adore that red and white polka dot paper......it's been in my stash for what seems like forever!  And that Santa stamp.......pure love!  It belonged to a friend of mine and I literally begged her for it!  I did, honestly.  I'm not above begging when it's something I want!  lol.

Thank you for stopping by!  Now be sure to stop by Jo's blog next to see what holiday inspiration she has cooked up for you.  Our blog hop continues through Sunday evening, July 22nd.

And be sure to stop by the Cookin' Up Creations forum for our CHRISTMAS IN JULY CROP this weekend, starting Friday, July 20th - July 22nd.  There will be more holiday inspiration, prizes and games.
