Sketch-A-Day and UYS

Here's a couple of layouts I created for the Sketch-A-Day Club and the Use Your Stash blog. This first layout is of Kyle ripping and playing with his niece and nephew. He was trying to tire them out but I think they tired him out instead. He was hot sweaty and out of breath but Katie and Jackson were still bursting with energy.

The pattern papers are Anna Griffin and I had to hand cut the large arrow. I flipped the paper over and used a ruler and pencil to sketch it out and used an exacto knife to cut it out. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Deets: Cardstock: The Paper Co. Pattern Paper: Anna Griffin. Letter Stickers: Doodlebug Designs. Other products used: Quickutz and buttons.

The second layout is of my beautiful boy, Tommy. He turned a big 10 years old this year. I thought the title was fitting because bless his empty tummy, he is always hungry.

Deets: Cardstock: Stampin' Up and Coredinations. Pattern Papers: Martha Stewart. Buttons: Bazzill. Eyelet: Making Memories. Other products used: Quickutz, Fiskars border punches, Sizzix die and Stampin' Up punch.

Stamp Challenge @ UYS

This weeks challenge over at the Use Your Stash blog is STAMPS! And we know you got 'em, so dust 'em off and create a NEW card, layout or altered art project and link 'em up here. If you participate in all the challenges for the month of July you could win a chance to be a Guest Designer for the month of September. If you missed the first challenge, that's okay, you still have until the end of the month to upload a project and link it to the correct post before July 31st.

Here's a quick and easy card that I created for the challenge. I used the new Lemonade paper and stamps from Basic Grey.

Deets: Cardstock: The Paper Co. and Georgia Pacific. Pattern Papers and Stamp: Basic Grey. Ribbon: Offray. Other: Corner Chomper from WRMK.

Changes at UYS.

If you haven't visited the Use Your Stash blog in awhile you might want to do so. As of July 1st there have been some major changes made. You can check them all out here. While you're there check out the clip challenge that was issued on Monday. If you have a bunch of these items in your stash that you've been hoarding or have purchased and don't know what to do with, then check out the blog and see what the UYS team created. If you would like to participate in this weeks challenge all you have to do is create a new project - card, layout (any size) or altered art using clips and link it here.

Here's what I came up with.

Deets: Cardstock: The Paper Co and Bazzill. Patttern Paper: Colorbok and Basic Grey. Stamp: Paper Inspirations. Flowers: Prima. Buttons: Autumn Leaves. Journaling Block: YMBD. Happy 4th of July!

First of all, I want to say Thank You to all the men and women that are fighting for our freedom and to their families that are left behind. And if you're the praying type, say a little prayer tonight that our heroes will one day return home safely. Dh is gone to town to have the oil changed in my car and he's going to stop by the grocery store to pick up some hamburger, hot dogs and brats to throw on the grill tonight. It hasn't rained in 10 days so there will be no fireworks this year, don't want to have the fire department out here tonight. lol. It's probably a good thing, since the dogs are afraid of them anyways. Sooo, what's your plans for this holiday weekend?
