Stamp Something: DRS Sketch Something Challenge

I don't know about you all, but I am so glad that the holidays are almost over! I have been so busy this past month that I haven't had much time to do anything other than cook and clean - and I'm getting a little tired of both! lol. I guess it's pretty much the same for everybody though. At least we all had a wonderful Christmas. The food was good, the dessert was even better, everyone liked their gifts and there was no family squabbling. lol. All in all, it was a very merry Christmas for our little family. Hope it was for yours too.

Here's the card I created for the sketch challenge over at Stamp Something. I used a stamp set that my ds gave me for Christmas - it's cute huh!Now for the deets: Cardstock and Patterned paper: Rob and Bob Studio (Provo Craft). Stamp: Pat the Dog (The Craft Lounge). Accessories: bone clip (Spare Parts), bone button (Jesse James), floss (DMC), ribbon (craft supply). TFL.

2 Sketches 4 You

I made this card for Laura's sketch #15 over at 2 Sketches 4 You. Sorry for the bad pic, but I had to take the photo on the inside because it has been raining non stop all day long! I'll try to take a better pic tomorrow.

All papers, alphabet stickers and puffy stickers are SEI's Paisley and Petals line. Card base is Stampin' Up and ribbon is Offray. TFL.

Tis the Season

I made this card for the Use Your Stash blog and Daring Cardmakers. This card took only a few minutes to make. I think I spent more time threading the buttons than I did on the entire card. Anywho, here is my last and final Christmas card of the season! I hope.

The base of my card is Bazzill. The patterned papers are Provo Craft which I've had forevah! And the stamp - Tis the Season is by Inkadinkado. TFL.

Share your favorite layout with UYS!

Use Your Stash knows how crazy this time of year gets for all of us crafters. So instead of the usual monthly challenge they are asking that you share your favorite layout with them. So head on over to the blog and check out our favorites and while you're there - provide a link to your favorite layout and tell us why it's your favorite. For all those that play along, your name will go in a hat for a prize! Drawing will be at the end of December.

Here's my favorite.
Why is this my favorite layout? I think the photo speaks for itself! For those that don't know, this is my shadow, Lulu. My ds teases me that there are more layouts of the dog than they are of him. Can I help it if she is more cooperative than he is. lol.

Swimming with the Dogphins

No, that is not a typo. This is a 12x12 layout that I created for the Winter Bullies Contest over at the Playground. We had to use paint, a quote, something orange, rubons and one photo had to be larger than the others. Being that I'm a one photo per page kinda gal having to use more than one photo was challenge enough for me. LOL. I'm not sure if I like it, but at least it's done and the challenge has been completed. I also combined this challenge with the IFC16 Get In Shape challenge over at SCS where we had to create a layout using 8 or more circles.

Deets: Cardstock: Bazzill. Pattern Paper and tag: SEI. Chipboard Letters: Scenic Route. Paint: Plaid. Letter Stickers: Making Memories. Other: Dymo label maker and ribbon.

CC194 and SC204

I made this card for yesterdays color challenge - CC194 Going Really Vanilla and todays sketch challenge - SC204 over at SCS. It's not often that I'm able to combine challenges, so when it happens, roll with it!

I didn't follow the sketch exactly because I was using scraps of pattern paper that I've had buried in my stash for awhile.

Deets: Cardstock: SU and The Paper Co. Pattern Paper: Bo Bunny Press. Stamp: Stampendous. Ink: Adirondack- Eggplant. Ribbon: Offray. Bosher: Bazzill

Sunday, November 23, 2008

A whole weekend and this is all I managed to get done - 1 layout and 1 card. Pitiful, I know. At least I was able to knock out 4 separate challenges with this 1 layout though - which is probably why it took me so dang long to finish it. I know they say you can't combine challenges, but since they're ALL on different sites I figure it's okay. Don't you?

Anywho, here are the details. Pattern paper: My Mind's Eye. Stamp: Inkadinkado. Brads, metal plaque and definition sticker: Making Memories. Buttons and lace: stash. Die cuts: Spellbinders. Punch: Martha Stewart.

Beary Box Sketch 3

I made this card using the Beary Box Sketch 3 that I found on Tenia's blog. Check it out to see her card.

I used a pre-made card for my base. Pattern paper: My Mind's Eye. Card stock: Stampin' Up and The Paper Co. Stamps: Inkadinkado and Stampin' Up. Ink: Adirondack (Espresso). Ribbon: Offray. Punch: Fiskars. Die cuts: Spellbinders

Hurry! Only 2 days left....

to get your button layouts or altered art projects completed and linked to the UYS blog by the end of the day Thursday, November 20th! If you don't have any buttons (and who doesn't) you can always rip them off some old clothes. Just kidding, or am I? Hee hee.

Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater.

I've been trying to come up with a idea for my fall cards for about a week now and as I was blog hopping I found the perfect sketch for my cards. It's the Beary Box Sketch 2 found on Tenia's blog. Thanks Tenia!

Deets: Cardstock: Stampin' Up. Patterned paper: Piggy Tales and Scenic Route. Ribbon: Offray Buttons: Autumn Leaves. Die cuts: Spellbinders (Labels 1)

Card from scraps....

I made this card from the scraps I had left over from the 8.5x11 layout that I created for the UYS button challenge this month. If you want to play along, just create a layout using buttons and link it to the blog by November 20th.

Okay now for the details. Cardstock: The Paper Co. PP: Imagination Project. Punches: Creative Memories, McGill, Martha Stewart and All Night Media. Buttons: Discount store. Ribbon: Craft supply. Letters: Sizzlet die.

Note: The black and white polka dot paper has been in my stash for 10 yrs. or more and I have no idea who manufactured it. I purchased it by 8.5x11 single sheets at a LSS when I lived in El Paso, TX.

LSC193 Fun With Shapes

I made this card for the Limited Supplies Challenge - LSC193 Fun With Shapes over at SCS. We were challenged to create a card using a rectangle and circle in our design and the only embellishment we were allowed to use is ribbon, and as you can see I snuck a button in there. What can I say, I'm a rebel! lol.

Okay here's the deets. I used pre folded cards as my base. The green paper is Provo Craft and I have no idea who manufactured the red and white dot paper. Stamps used are Inkadinkado and Stampin' Up. Ribbon is by Offray and the buttons are Jesse James and Stickopotamus. TFL.

Got buttons.....

if so, then head on over to the UYS blog and check out this month's stash challenge. All you have to do is create a new layout and link it to the blog by November 20th for a chance to win a prize pack donated by Kimmarie.

Here's a couple of samples that I created using buttons.
Now be sure and check out the blog to see what the other girls created this month.

Fall is here!!!

For the past week, I've been watching the squirrels rob my pecan tree of all it's fruit getting ready for the cold winter weeks ahead. The trees here are now bursting with colors of red, orange, yellow and purple. Yep, fall is upon us. The mornings are brisk, and the evenings are chilly so my wardrobe from now til spring will consist of nothing but flannel and sweats. No more walking around in my bare feet either, but that's okay by me because I love this time of year!

Here's a pic I took of the windmill this morning.

Did ya miss me.......

I know it's been awhile since my last post but you know how it is, life seems to get in the way sometimes. I have been scrapping though. I'm working on some projects that I can't share right now, but I can share these pics that I took last week of my two babies.

Ain't they cute!

I made this card for WCMD but never got a chance to post it. So here it is. Some of you SU stampers may recognize it from the Fall and Winter 2008 catalog.

Just a few cards from WCMD

I had a such a blast over at the playground this past weekend. There were so many great card challenges and had it not been for a family emergency I would have completed a lot more of them, but I'm not giving up. I copied and pasted all the challenges and I plan to work on a few more this week.

Most of the patterned paper you see is Pebbles, Inc with a little Colorbok, Making Memories and Provo Craft thrown in. The candles is a Sizzix die cut that I had purchased and never used before this past weekend- shame on me because I think they turned out kind of cute. And the cardstock is none other than Stampin' Up. TFL.

Yeah, I know another birthday card, but seriously can you ever have enough!
Cardstock is Stampin' Up. Pattern Paper is Making Memories and stamp is Studio G and ribbon is Offray. TFL

This last set of cards are pretty simple, but I like the way they turned out anyway. I think I'm gonna give them to my mil so she can send them to her grandchildren. And we all know what an 8 yr. old and a 4 yr. old will do with them after they open 'em. Yep, you guessed it - toss em. lol.

Cardstock is The Paper Co. Pattern Paper is Stampin' Up (about 9 or 10 yrs. old) and Making Memories. Stamps are also from Stampin' Up. TFL.

World Card Making Day Oct. 4th.

I was having a cow to try out Tim Holtz's watercolor technique that aired on the Carol Duvall Show. So here it is. Yes, I know I'm no Tim Holtz's but I'm kind of happy with the results. Here's the link if you're interested. http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/08/september-techn.html Okay, now for the deets. Cardstock: SU. Pattern Paper: Scenic Route. Stamps: SU & Penny Black. Just wanted to share.....

a quick card I made for a mini challenge that was posted a couple of weeks ago over at the Use Your Stash blog. Yeah, yeah, I know I'm a tad late in posting it, but hey, better late than never I always say. Anywho, the challenge was to make a "you made my day" card and send it to someone. So here it is, now I just need to figure out who to send it to.

By the way, I used one of the many new fabulous card maps over at Page maps. Be sure and check 'em out when you get a chance.

Okay onto to my card. Cardstock is from Stampin' Up. Patterned papers are from SEI and Making Memories. I used my Sizzix to cut a flower out of felt and I used a Sassafras Lass stamp for the stem and the button is from Autumn Leaves. TFL.

Sunday, September 14, 2008

I finally had the house all to myself for a couple of hours this afternoon and managed to start and finish this layout for the chipboard challenge over at Use Your Stash. By the way, if you want to play along all you have to do is complete a layout using chipboard and link to the blog by the 20th of this month. If you don't have chipboard just do what I did and recycle a mail envelope.

Okay , now for the deets. Cardstock: Kraft by The Paper Co. Pattern paper and large letter stickers: Sassafraslass. Stamps: Studio G and Prima. Small letter stickers and green button: Making Memories. Cardstock stickers: Sticko by EK Success.

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

It was a long Labor Day weekend and all I managed to do was make two little ole' cards. Pathetic I know.

I combined challenges with this first card. The first challenge was issued by Use Your Stash. The challenge was to make a card with the scraps leftover from my layout below. Check.
The second challenge was a Limited Supply Challenge - LSC183 issued by Judy over at SCS. The challenge was to use something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. Well the something old is definitely eyelets. Something new is the ribbon by Offray. Something borrowed is a sketch from Verve. Something blue is the cardstock. Check. Check.
Okay, now for the deets.
Stamp: Inkadinkado. Cardstock: Kraft - The Paper Co. Patterned paper: SEI. Ribbon: Offray. Eyelets: Making Memories. I also used a border punch by Martha Stewart and rectangle nestabilities by Spellbinders.

This second card is for the Ways to Use It challenge - WT181 over at SCS. The challenge was to sharpen our Prisma coloring pencils and use them with Gamasol, OMS or baby oil. I chose to use baby oil because I already had some in my bathroom.

Okay, now for the deets.
Stamp: All Night Media. Cardstock: Kraft - The Paper Co. Patterned Paper: Rob and Bob Studio, Provo Craft. Ribbon: the blue is Offray, unsure about the pink. Safety pin: Walmart

Thanks for looking and I hope you all had a more productive weekend.

Mini Challenge

I created this card for the mini challenge over at Use Your Stash. The challenge was to use yellow and orange on a layout, card or project. Sounds easy enough, right? NOT! I started out by stamping my image and heat embossing it in white and for some reason, the colors green and pink kept sneaking their way on to my card. I was finally able to add just a touch of yellow at the end by adding ribbon to my card. Hope you like.
The details on this card are a little blurry. I do know that the orange and pink cardstock are Stampin' Up as well as the little hello stamp. The flower stamp is a Penny Black stamp and the rest is paper that I've had for ages - the green polka dot paper came in one of those big slabs of paper that you never seem to run out of, hee hee. The striped paper was a free gift for some magazine subscription - which I threw out but kept the paper and the ribbon I've been hoarding forever.

Happy Birthday Lulu!!!

It's official, my little girl turned 4 years old today! Yep, on August 23rd, 2004 my little girl was born in El Paso, Texas. We really didn't need another Cocker Spaniel after all, we already owned 2, but after seeing the litter of puppies how could we say no. So, for a mere $75.00 we had ourselves another dog and it has been pure joy ever since. She has been a wonderful little companion too. She sleeps when I sleep, she eats what I eat and she goes where I go. No doubt about it, she is my dog! Happy Birthday Lulu! Mommy loves you!

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

I created this layout for the Patterned Paper challenge over at Use Your Stash. If you haven't done yours yet, you still have until midnight tonight to finish it and get it linked. I chose SEI's Chick-a-doo papers I received in my June Classy Pak from Classy Coordinates. I loved how these papers worked so well with this picture I took of my niece, Nikki at Lawton Park last week.
Okay, let's get down to the details.

CS: Kraft
PP: SEI Chick-a-doo
Letters: AC Thickers
Brads: MM
Stamp: Prima
Rubons: Autumn Leaves
Butterfly Punch: Marvy Uchida
Border Punch: Martha Stewart

Thanks for looking.

I've been playing again!

I finally used some sizzlet dies that I bought at Tuesday Morning sometime this year or maybe it was last year, who knows? Anywho, I didn't really need another flower die, after all, I have just about every flower die that Sizzix put out - not to mention bunches of punches, but I couldn't pass up a bargain so I bought 'em anyway and I'm so glad I did.

These cards are a 4 inch square. I used the largest square scallop nestablilitie to make my card base.
This one is my favorite.
It's really cute huh?

CS: Creative Memories
PP: The Paper Studio
Dies: Sizzlet
Brads: Making Memories
Buttons: Jesse James
Ribbon: Michael's

This is card is also a favorite of mine.

CS: Creative Memories
PP: The Paper Studio
Dies: Quickutz
Brads: Making Memories
The flowers and ribbon were an
RAK from a couple of online friends.

This last one is my least favorite, maybe because it went together so fast. I don't know I just feel like it needs a little something, something just don't know what that something something is. lol.

CS: Creative Memories
PP: The Paper Studio
Stamp: Inkadinkado
Ribbon: Michael's

Well, that's all for today folks. I hope to share some more creations with you later. Enjoy what's left of your weekend.

Thursday, August 14, 2008

I made this card for a friend who will be celebrating a birthday this month. I'm very happy with the way this turned out AND I was able to use my new Martha Stewart border punch and my new rectangle nestabilities. Happy Birthday Edna!!! Hope your day is as special as you are!

Now for the deets: Stamp: Inkadinkado. Pattern Paper: The Paper Studio. Flowers: Prima. Brads: Making Memories. Ribbon: Michael's. Border Punch: Martha Stewart. Nestabilities.

Pics to share

I stepped out the side door of the house this morning to let the dogs take care of business and spotted something orange fluttering around my Confederate Jasmine so I ran in to grab my camera and this is what I got. Pretty huh?

Look what I won...

and all I had to do was use my stash!!! That's right, just for using some stamps that were just sitting around collecting dust.

If you like Cosmo Cricket - and who in their right mind doesn't, then head on over to Use Your Stash blog and join in on this months challenge for your chance to win big!!!

Monday, July 28, 2008

A quick card

Can you believe it? My scrap table is still covered in supplies left over from the stamp challenge over at Use Your Stash which I WON!!! If you haven't had a chance to check 'em out yet I urge you to do so. Next month they are having another challenge with prizes. Margo, I'm talking to you since you are my one and only reader. LOL.

Day 7

Our week of adventures with Chloe have finally come to an end. Yep, mom called to let us know that she was on her way home so Kyle and I loaded up the car to meet her. I know you're probably thinking we're glad to get rid of our little house guest and the answer is, YES, we are. LOL. Although it was loads of fun having a new pup in the house again, the simple fact is - it's a LOT of work! After Blue passed away we thought several times about getting another pup but after dog sitting Chloe for a whole week - we have changed our minds. Yes, we are going to miss our little house guest but it's good to get back to some sort of normalcy. Besides, it's not like we don't already own a dog or two.

Here' one last picture of Chloe to remember her by.

Thursday, July 24, 2008

Oops forgot to post Day 6

Kyle mowed the lawn yesterday so we sort of all stayed outside for the first part of the day and by the time we came in Chloe was all tuckered out and slept most of the afternoon. That's when I get the urge to want to just keep her forever but the slightest noise or movement wakes her up and she gets a second wind and there's no peace in the house for the next couple of hours. LOL. Yep, as much as I'm going to miss her, she is going back just as soon as my mother returns home from the beach!

Tuesday, July 22, 2008

Day 5

Chloe got her first taste of bacon and eggs this morning and LOVES IT!!! My mother is going to be upset with me when she gets back because she specifically said not to give Chloe anything but dry food - but how can I eat in front of her and not give her a little something. LOL. She thinks she is one of the big dogs now. LOL.

Here's another pic I snapped of her yesterday that I forgot to share.
