Chalking Embossed Images

It's our last week of chalk techniques over at the Cookin' Up Creations forum and this week I decided to close the month out with two final techniques.  The first one is simple enough - use chalks to add color to dry embossed images.

Here I dry embossed the tulips with a Pebbles Inc.stencil, flipped my paper over and placed the stencil over the top of my embossed image and applied color using a q tip and Craf-T Products chalk.

Thanks for looking!

Creating Unique Backgrounds:

I wanted to squeeze in another easy technique so I decided to create a one of a kind background for my stamped image.  I was a bit stumped for colors at first, and then I remembered the cute little tutus I spotted over at the Sweetie Pie Tutu shop on Etsy.

The one on the right is the one I drew my colors from.

Cute eh?   And here's the card I came up with!

First, I punched a small circle out of white paper and adhered it to my cardstock using repositionable adhesive. I then used chalks and cotton balls to rub color onto my cardstock in a circular motion. Once I was done, I sprayed my background with hair spray to set the chalks. I then removed my punched circle and stamped my image over the top. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out, but I think the card needs a little something else, hmmm......a black cord and silver beads, perhaps?

Thanks for looking!
