This past Thursday, Kyle and I.....and Lulu too, headed out to Columbia for some much needed retail therapy. It was a little after noon when we finally left the house and our....or should I say my, first order of business was a quick stop at Habitat for Humanity. I love to walk though there any chance I get because you just never know what you might find. Most times I leave there empty handed, but this time I got lucky and scored 2 pieces of Pyrex and 1 piece of Anchor Hocking .....all for $7.50!
Next, we stopped by one of my favorite consignment shops, The Red Door which I just found out is closing it's doors. There I found another milk glass covered casserole dish by Anchor Hocking and a loaf shaped casserole dish by Corningware. I paid a little more than I wanted for these 2 pieces but I really liked the size. The covered casserole was $4.75 and the other was $2.25.....all in all, not too bad.
From there we headed up the #1 highway toward Columbia. We stopped in at World Market so Kyle could pick his own six pack.
Then we stopped by JoAnn's to see if they had the Fact or Fiction collection by Basic Grey.......and they did! So I bought a 12x12 pad of Fact and 6x6 pad of Fiction, both were 40% off.
They also had Amy Tangerine products at 50% off so I snagged a 12x12 pad, 2 6x6 pads, 2 packs of dimensional stickers and a pack of die cuts.
By this time we were all starting to get a little hungry so we headed to our all time favorite fast food restaurant, Chick-fil-a......and oh em gee was it delicious!
Because we had Lulu with us we had to sit in the car and eat. That was okay because the weather was nice that day. We sat there with the windows down. Kyle and I with our chicken sandwiches and Lulu with her nuggets. It was a good shopping day indeed, but by the end of the day I was all tuckered out and all I wanted to do was get home, put on my night gown and call it a day! Thank you Kyle for tagging along with me and patiently waiting in the car with Lulu until I returned.

Camping at the beach
Last week Mr. J and I loaded up all four canines and took a much needed camping trip to Myrtle Beach.
The campground was a little crowded for this time of year. I guess like ourselves, everyone was waiting for the kids to return back to school. The beach however, was pretty desolate during the early morning and
late afternoon hours.
Which was good because we spent a lot of time doing this.......
and this.......
and this......
At the end of the day though we had views like this.
Well, our much needed vacation is over and it's back to reality for us. We returned home to a lawn that needs to be mowed, a mountain of laundry and a camper that needs to be unpacked. All in all, it was a great trip and I can't wait to return to the warm, sandy beaches of the Atlantic in the near future.

I just wanna scream!
Things around here have just been CRAZY! I have so many things that I want and need to do and nothing is getting done. Mr. J is working extra days this week to pay for the new truck we purchased earlier this week and I'm stuck with canine duty.......and it's starting to SUCK! Cooper, our new and fourth pup has a knack for finding something to drag up to the house every time he goes out. Sometimes it's a bird or part of a bird, sometimes it's a mouse or mole but yesterday it was a dead rat! And I don't mean a mouse, I mean a rat, a big freakin' rat! So now, when he goes out it's on the end of a leash and whose on the other end.......ME! He has fooled me outside too many times this morning already and I'm getting awful tired of it. Sorry, needed to vent a little.
And with all the rain we've had here lately the grass is already over our ankles is some areas of the yard. So that means that I will be spending a few hours in the hot humid sun mowing the lawn this afternoon. Sooo not what I had planned today, but oh well, maybe a little time outside and nothing but the sound of that John Deere engine is just what I need right now.
Oh and my scraproom, well, it's on hold for a while, at least until Mr. J has time to attach the top to the dresser and add the trim. Once that's done I can start painting. I chose crisp linen white for the furniture and will most likely add some pink and/or black accessories. I was cruising Pinterest this week and found this wood jumbo button wall decor made from an old cheese board! You can check our the link HERE
Don't you just love it! I just gotta have one for my scraproom wall. So you can bet that the next time my mom and I are out thrifting that I will be on the lookout for one! Thanks for stopping by and I will try to post some pics of my room later in the week.

Blue Plate Special and Hark! Hark!
Yay, it's nursery rhyme theme over at Cookin' Up Creations this month, and who doesn't have a favorite nursery rhyme. Mine was, and still is Pease Porridge Hot. I don't know why, but I still sing it to this day.....but with a more bohemian accent. Hey, don't knock until you hear it. lol. Anyhoo, this month I chose Hark, Hark, The Dogs Do Bark!, because as you probably know by now, I have FOUR of them so I though it was only fitting!
Hark, hark, the dogs do bark!
The beggars are coming to town!
Some in rags and some in tags,
and one in a velvet gown.
So my challenge was to create a layout based on the sketch below and to use tags.
And here's my layout.
For this layout I used a kit that I purchased from Scrapdango that contained the Awesome collection by Simple Stories. I pulled out some metal stars (Scrapworks), an old plaque eyelet (Making Memories) and a button from my stash. I also splattered some water color paint on the pattern paper as well as the background.
Thanks for stopping by. Now leave me a comment and tell me what is your favorite nursery rhyme.

Cookin' Up Creations Christmas in July Blog Hop
Welcome to the Christmas in July blog hop, hosted by the Cookin' Up Creations Master Chef Challenge Team! Yeah I know, it's way too hot to be thinking about Christmas, right? Wrong! With the temperatures rising above the 100 degree mark the past couple of weeks I've been spending a lot more time sitting inside under the air conditioner. And if you're anything like me, you are probably doing the same. So why not join us for our Christmas in July blog hop for some great ideas and inspiration to help you get a jump start on those holiday cards and projects. To begin, stop by the Cookin' Up Creations blog and follow the links until you reach the end of the hop.
Today, I will be sharing a couple of Christmas cards I made using some old patter paper with (in this case) some older pattern paper, but you can use new paper.
I just adore that red and white polka dot paper......it's been in my stash for what seems like forever! And that Santa stamp.......pure love! It belonged to a friend of mine and I literally begged her for it! I did, honestly. I'm not above begging when it's something I want! lol.
Thank you for stopping by! Now be sure to stop by Jo's blog next to see what holiday inspiration she has cooked up for you. Our blog hop continues through Sunday evening, July 22nd.
And be sure to stop by the Cookin' Up Creations forum for our CHRISTMAS IN JULY CROP this weekend, starting Friday, July 20th - July 22nd. There will be more holiday inspiration, prizes and games.

Dot & Whimsy Reveal
If you're looking for something fun and different to scrap with then you should try this crepe paper fringe from Dot & Whimsy. It quickly adds a touch of fun to any project. I was fortunate enough to be able work with the egg hunt fringe. The name alone suggests Easter so I thought, hey why fight it! And let me just say, you're never to old to dye eggs. lol.
Thank you Shellye at Dot & Whimsy for sponsoring us over at Cookin' Up Creations this month!!!

Finally Friday!
TGIF!!! It's been a productive week for me. I've updated my poor old neglected blog TWICE and I managed to complete not one, not two, but THREE layouts this week!!! And anyone that knows me knows what a major accomplishment that is. Now I won't mention all the housework that got neglected this week or the mountain of laundry that is waiting on me but hey, even us girls need a break from the same old shit......you know what I mean.......dishes, laundry, vacuuming! If we didn't get a little creative therapy we would go mad. So here's what I got done this week.
An 8x8 circle layout using Pink Paislee.
12x12 of my favorite now 22 yr. old kid.....I can say favorite since I only have the one. lol.
And you'll have to wait to see the last one cuz I'm saving it for an upcoming challenge over at CUC but I will leave you with a couple of pics I snapped last night of my two girls.
Here's Mae, Mae, Maddy or Maybelline depending on who's calling her.
And my sweet little angel, Lulu.
Thanks for looking......hope you enjoy your weekend!
